A monthly architecture magazine from Japan, published in Japanese and English since January 1971 by Shinkenchiku-sha Co., Ltd. with A+U Publishing Co., Ltd. It publishes in-depth reports on architects and firms from different countries, and essays by architects, critics and historians. It is a commercial magazine, not a peer-reviewed academic journal; texts are sent in English, between 300 and 1,500 words, through a form on its website.

It covers how architectural forms, technologies, models and doctrines were transferred, adapted and appropriated in colonial and postcolonial settings. It is free to read, charges authors nothing, uses blind review by international experts and accepts articles in German, English, Spanish, French and Italian.

Articles are in Spanish, with abstracts also in English and Portuguese, and only professionals in design and communication may submit.

It publishes work on the sensory environment, architecture and urban space, including everyday experience of places and the design of the built environment. It is free to read, charges no fees, uses double-blind peer review and asks for titles and abstracts in French and English.
American Art

A journal of American art history and related visual culture, published since 1987 by the Smithsonian American Art Museum together with the University of Chicago Press. It publishes feature articles of 9,000 to 14,000 words with 15 to 20 images, and short essays of 1,500 to 3,000 words. Articles are sent by email and reviewed double-anonymously; the journal obtains the image rights and pays the image fees.
