Terms of use
What you can expect from the Academy and what the Academy expects from you. Nothing here takes away a right the law gives you.
Who you are dealing with
Symbiotic Design, Deflectiespoelstraat 6, 5651 HP Eindhoven, The Netherlands. Chamber of Commerce number 96731222, VAT number NL005228606B35. The Academy is run by Dr. Gonzalo Raineri.
These terms cover this website and everything sold or given through it. Using the site means these terms apply between us.
What is on offer here
Courses, with lessons, quizzes, work to hand in and, where a course says so, a certificate at the end.
Digital books, read online with their audio where they have it, opened as soon as they are paid for, or at once when they are free.
Printed books, made to order and posted to you.
A community of references, open to read, and a newsletter you can join and leave as you please.
Your account
An account is one person's. Give a name and an email address that are really yours, because a certificate carries the name on the account and it is worth nothing if it is not yours.
Keep your password to yourself. What is done through your account is treated as done by you, so tell us at once if you think someone else is in it and we will close it to them.
You can close your account whenever you like. What happens to what is kept about you is set out in the privacy notice.
When you make an account you are asked to confirm that you have read and accept these terms and the privacy notice. The privacy notice says what is kept about your visits and your reading, and how to stop it.
Prices and paying
Prices are in euros and include VAT. The price you see before you order is the price you pay, and for a printed book the delivery is shown separately and added up in front of you first.
Payment is through Stripe, by card, PayPal, iDEAL and other ways. Card details never pass through this site.
An order button that commits you to pay says so on it. Nothing here charges you for something you have not chosen.
Courses and how long you keep them
When you enrol, you get the course as it stands, and every improvement made to it while your access lasts.
How long that is, is written on the course before you buy it: either a number of months or for good. Whatever it said at that moment is what you have, and a later change to the course's terms does not shorten what you already bought.
A course may be added to, corrected or reordered. The Academy will not gut a course you are in the middle of, and if one is ever withdrawn while you still have access, you will be told and offered your money back for what is left of it.
A live session, where a course has one, is announced with its own date. If the Academy has to move or cancel one, you will hear as soon as it is known.
Certificates
A certificate says that the person named on it completed the named course at this Academy, on the date it carries, and that is all it says. It is issued by the Academy itself. It is not a diploma, it is not a state qualification, and it does not come from an accrediting body, because the Academy has none behind it.
Each one carries a code, and anyone you show it to can check that code on this site and see the name, the course and the date. That is what makes it worth something.
A certificate issued by mistake, or earned by someone else's work, can be withdrawn. That is the only reason one is ever taken back.
The books, delivery and changing your mind
Printed books are made once you order them and posted from the printer. When they arrive, what it costs, where the Academy can send them, and your right to change your mind within fourteen days are all on the delivery and returns page, which is part of these terms.
A digital book you pay for opens the moment the payment goes through. The buying page asks you to tick one box for each book before you pay, and without it the purchase does not go ahead. The delivery and returns page explains why.
Several copies of a digital book are sold as codes, sent to the buyer only; how they work and how they are returned is on the delivery and returns page.
What you may do with the material, and what you may not
The book, the course material, the films, the audio and this site belong to the Academy or to whoever made them, and they are yours to learn from.
Read, download where the site offers it, print for yourself, quote a short passage with the source named. Use what you learn in your own work freely: that is the whole purpose.
Do not share your account or your access with anyone else. Do not republish, resell or hand on the material, in whole or in part, and do not use it to teach a course of your own. Do not feed it to a service that reproduces it for other people.
If you want to teach this Framework, write to us. That is a conversation, not a refusal.
What you write here
Anything you send to the community, write in a discussion or hand in as work stays yours. By sending it you let the Academy show it where it belongs on this site and keep it as part of the record of your learning.
Write things you have the right to write. Do not put up somebody else's work as your own, and do not put up anything unlawful, abusive or aimed at a person.
The Academy reads what is sent for the community before it appears, and can decline it or take it down.
When an account can be closed
The Academy can suspend or close an account that is shared out, used to copy the material, or used to abuse somebody. Where it is fair to do so, you will be warned first and given a chance to put it right.
If an account is closed for one of those reasons, money for what you have already used is not returned. If it is closed for any other reason, what you have not used is.
The site itself
The Academy keeps the site running and available, but no site is up every minute of every year. Work on it, a failure at one of the companies behind it, or something nobody saw coming can interrupt it. Where an interruption is more than brief, the Academy will say so.
Nothing on the public pages is advice for your particular situation. The courses teach a way of working; what you decide to do with it in your own practice is yours.
Responsibility
The Academy is responsible for what it sells being what it promised. If something is wrong with it, it is put right, replaced or refunded.
Beyond that, the Academy's responsibility is limited to what you paid, so far as the law allows it to be limited. Nothing here limits responsibility for death or injury, for anything done deliberately or recklessly, or for any of the rights a consumer has by law, none of which can be signed away and none of which these terms try to touch.
Changes to these terms
These terms can change. The date at the foot of this page says when they last did.
A change never applies backwards to something you have already bought. If a change matters to what you hold, you will be told rather than left to find it.
Which law, and where to go
Dutch law applies. If you are a consumer, that never takes away the protection the law of the country you live in gives you.
If something is wrong, write to us first, through the contact page. The Academy answers every complaint, and would far rather settle it than have you go further. If it cannot be settled, the courts of the Netherlands can hear it, and as a consumer you may also go to the courts where you live.
