Anti-racist design calls for moving beyond superficial diversity statements toward practices informed by critical race theory, so that design outcomes actively counter systemic racism and promote equitable access for marginalized communities.
The book calls for 'adopting an explicitly Anti-Racist design stance, moving beyond superficial diversity statements or the flawed logic of "color-blind" methodologies', informed by Critical Race Theory scholars and advocated by 'Crystal C. Hall and Mindy Hernandez' (Ch9 §097), within a broader ethical commitment to plurality that engages 'the unflinching analyses of anti-racist and critical race theories' (Ch9 §094). Operationally, 'an anti-racist outcome actively counters systemic racism and underrepresentation by design, promoting equitable access and empowering marginalized communities' (Ch16 §155).
