You have put the better option on the table and watched it come off again. Not because anyone argued against it. Because by the time it arrived it had a price on it, and the drawings were already approved.

The book this academy is built on says something uncomfortable about that. The decision you lost was not lost in that meeting. It was lost earlier, in a week nobody marked, when the shape of the project quietly closed most of the options it would ever have. What was left by the time you spoke was the expensive end of a choice that had been free a few months before.

So the work here is not learning to argue better. You bring a project you are working on now and you work it: where it was really decided, which choices are still open, what each one sets in motion, and what to do about it on Monday.

This is where the sustainable strategies and methods of design practice are taught, and where you work out which of them your own project needs. Not a reading list. The ones that fit this project, at the point where they can still be taken.

You leave with decisions made on your own project and a written analysis of it you can put in front of the people paying for it.

Start with the free thirty minutes. Everyone starts there, and you spend it on your own work.

Why start free

The groundwork is the same in every field, so it is not taught three times over. Thirty minutes, free, spent on a project of your own rather than on theory: when a project is really decided, how to tell the kind of problem you are in, what to do when two good arguments meet, and how the framework is used. These are the basics everything else here stands on, and they cost nothing.
