Teoría General de Sistemas

Teoría General de Sistemas is the Spanish language edition, published by Fondo de Cultura Económica in Mexico, of Ludwig von Bertalanffy's General System Theory: Foundations, Development, Applications, originally published in English in 1968. The book sets out systems thinking as a framework for understanding the interrelationships between different scientific disciplines, arguing that general principles and laws apply across systems of every kind, from biology and psychology to sociology and engineering, and emphasising the study of wholes rather than isolated parts. Its first part addresses the general theory of systems and the features of closed and open systems; its second part develops a view of the human being as an active personality system that creates its own universe, rather than as a mechanism reducing biological tension.
