The Thinker's Guide to Scientific Thinking applies the critical-thinking framework developed by Richard Paul and Linda Elder to the practice of science, aiming to help students and working scientists reason within the internal logic of scientific inquiry. It sets out habits of careful analysis, questioning data, testing theories, drawing logical conclusions and proposing workable solutions, intended to apply across scientific fields from astronomy to zoology. It is part of the Thinker's Guide Library published by the Foundation for Critical Thinking, an organization co-founded by Paul that promotes critical thinking across disciplines.
