Material Revolution offers a systematic overview of sustainable and multi-purpose materials available to designers and architects, intended to bridge the gap between materials research and everyday design and building practice. It covers natural and biodegradable materials as well as materials engineered for multiple functions or reduced energy requirements, giving readers the background needed to judge whether a new material suits a given project. It was written by Sascha Peters, an engineer and designer who works as a materials consultant, in response to growing constraints on the availability of raw materials.
