This CLACSO manual, grown out of a distance-learning course for Latin American researchers, guides readers through building a theoretical framework for social research, critically analyzing existing studies, and writing up a project's objectives and methodology.
Manual de Metodología: construcción del marco teórico, formulación de los objetivos y elección de la metodología grew out of a distance-learning course on the theory, objectives and methods of social research, run by CLACSO's Campus Virtual with participants from across Latin America. Written by Ruth Sautu together with Paula Boniolo, Pablo Dalle and Rodolfo Elbert, it opens with a chapter on building a theoretical framework for social research, continues with a chapter on critically analyzing existing studies as an input for designing a new research project, and closes with recommendations for writing up the theoretical framework, objectives and methodological proposal.
