Profiles of more than a hundred pioneering women across industrial, fashion, graphic, interactive and architectural design. A history that, in SDF terms, restores overlooked practitioners to the story of how design's Procedures were built. The book traces the role of women designers over the past hundred years, covering architecture, interior design, fashion, textiles, furniture, lighting, product and graphic design. It sets out to correct what the authors describe as design history's long underrepresentation of women, placing well-known names such as Ray Eames, Charlotte Perriand and Zaha Hadid alongside lesser-known figures whose work has been overlooked. The book was named one of the BBC's ten best fashion and design books of 2019.
