The proceedings of the 2011 Paris symposium "Researching Design Education," held by Cumulus and the Design Research Society, bringing together research on design education and on using design-based approaches to drive innovation in business and engineering education.
This is the proceedings volume of the 1st International Symposium for Design Education Researchers, titled "Researching Design Education," held in Paris on 18-19 May 2011 under the joint auspices of Cumulus (the International Association of Universities and Colleges of Art, Design and Media) and the Design Research Society's Design Pedagogy Special Interest Group, hosted by the Paris Chamber of Commerce and Industry. Edited by Erik Bohemia, Brigitte Borja de Mozota and Luisa Collina, the symposium and its proceedings explore how innovation in education is informed by, and in turn informs, design research, covering design education itself as well as the use of design-based approaches to drive innovation in general, business and engineering education.
