Proceedings of DRS 2016 International Conference: Future–Focused Thinking

This is the proceedings volume for DRS2016, the Design Research Society's 50th Anniversary International Conference, held in Brighton, UK, from 27–30 June 2016 and hosted by the University of Brighton together with the Royal College of Art and Imperial College London. Organised around the theme 'Future-Focused Thinking', the conference addressed three guiding questions: how design research can help frame and address the societal problems facing us, how it can be a creative and active force for rethinking ideas about design itself, and how it can shape lives in more responsible, meaningful and open ways. The proceedings, edited by Peter Lloyd and Erik Bohemia, span ten volumes covering papers, debates, conversations, workshops and PhD-by-design work presented at the conference, alongside archival material marking the Society's fiftieth anniversary.
