The Nordic Council of Ministers invites cultural organisations in European countries neighbouring the Nordic region to propose projects with Nordic partners for 2027 and 2028. Funding from EUR 100,000 to EUR 800,000; proposals from 1 October to 1 November 2026.
Nordic Currents is a new international culture initiative of the Nordic Council of Ministers, to take place between 1 June 2027 and 1 June 2028. It is open to established organisations from European countries neighbouring the Nordic region (primarily Belgium, Estonia, France, Germany, Ireland, Latvia, Lithuania, the Netherlands, Poland and the United Kingdom), including cultural organisations, institutions, promoters, festivals, producers, embassies and diplomatic missions. Applicants need at least two partners from different Nordic countries, and activities take place mainly in the applicant's own country.
Projects may apply for EUR 100,000 to EUR 800,000 from a total budget of EUR 800,000, so between one and eight projects will be selected; co-financing is required. Projects combine public cultural events with network building and knowledge sharing for the sector, and must include artists and cultural actors from all the Nordic countries. Proposals are submitted in English through the online portal between 1 October and 1 November 2026; selected projects will be announced in May 2027.
