Mextropoli, billed as one of the largest architecture and city festivals in the Americas, returns to Mexico City on 17 to 20 September 2026. It gathers students, professionals, creatives, citizens, and urban experts (more than 70,000 attendees) to rethink cities through architecture and public dialogue.
Mextropoli, the Festival de Arquitectura y Ciudad, turns Mexico City into an open forum on architecture and urban life. Its organizers describe it as the most important architecture and city festival in the Americas, drawing more than 70,000 people to lectures, installations, and public conversations that invite students, professionals, creatives, and citizens alike to rethink the city.
Its premise, that cities are shaped collectively and in public, resonates with the Symbiotic Design Framework's attention to communities as holders of collective challenges and collective wisdom, and with social responsibility understood as designing for collective well-being.
