Lifehack (2013-2016) was a New Zealand initiative that used extensive co-design with young people, designers, developers and mental health professionals to address the broad, ambiguous brief of improving youth mental health and wellbeing across Aotearoa.
In New Zealand the Lifehack initiative (2013-2016), which emerged from the Prime Minister's Youth Mental Health Project. The initial commission was broadly to 'improve youth mental health and wellbeing across Aotearoa New Zealand' – a goal with significant ambiguity regarding specific problems, target interventions, or desired outcomes. Addressing this, Lifehack employed an extensive co-design process, bringing together young people, designers, developers, and mental health professionals.
