This is a chapter by Catalina Wainerman and Ruth Sautu, 'Errores comunes en la formulación de investigaciones sociales' ('Common errors in the formulation of social research'), from the edited volume Acerca de la formación de investigadores en ciencias sociales (On the training of researchers in the social sciences). Wainerman and Sautu are well known Argentine sociologists whose work on the practical difficulties of social research training is a standard reference in Latin American research-methods teaching. Based on its title, the chapter addresses recurring mistakes researchers make when designing and formulating social research projects.
