¿Cual es tu Sur? by Gabriel Matthey Correa offers a political and social rereading of Chile, arguing for a Latin American perspective that begins in the south rather than following a Western frame, in pursuit of an integral and sustainable development.
¿Cuál es tu Sur?, by the Chilean composer and writer Gabriel Matthey Correa, was published by Serifa Editores in Santiago in 2015 as a 241 page illustrated first edition. The book proposes a political and social rereading of present day Chile, inviting the construction of a Chilean and Latin American self-understanding that breaks with the traditional Western frame of reference. Matthey argues that this beginning lies in the south, and from that starting point proposes a route toward integral, harmonious and sustainable development. Following publication, the author presented the book first in Punta Arenas and then in cities including Valdivia, Chillán, Castro and Ancud, reflecting his commitment to decentralised presentation of the work.
