Three grants of USD 75,000 for teams preparing innovative climate technologies for small field tests, to pay for environmental impact assessment, predictive impact modelling or engagement with affected stakeholders. Applications are due by 1 December 2026.
The Climate Intervention Environmental Impact Fund (CIEIF) opens its sixth grant round, with three grants of USD 75,000 each. The money must go mainly to at least one of three things: environmental impact assessment, predictive impact modelling, or engagement with potentially impacted stakeholders, from local communities to government agencies, for a proposed climate intervention field test. Applications that do not focus on at least one of these are rejected. Nonprofit organisations, including academic institutions, research teams through eligible organisations and private businesses may apply; individuals and student projects are not eligible. The fund does not support general adaptation, climate resilience, clean energy or sustainable development projects, nor Direct Air Capture, CCUS or stratospheric Solar Radiation Management. Applications are in English, at most 20 pages, with no standard form, and must answer the ten questions listed in the guidelines; the use of AI in applications is not accepted. Grantees must be willing to publish their results in a peer-reviewed journal or a peer-reviewed report. Before sending an application, applicants contact the fund to agree how to deliver it. Applications are due by 1 December 2026, and decisions are expected by 1 February 2027. Source: CIEIF
