William Myers' Thames & Hudson survey, produced with MoMA and prefaced by Paola Antonelli, documents around seventy projects where designers work directly with living organisms and tissues, from architecture to bioengineering. First published in 2012 with a 2018 revised edition, it extends the SDF's Technological component into the living environment.

Published by Thames & Hudson in association with MoMA, Bio Design examines around seventy projects, from concepts and prototypes to completed designs, spanning architecture, industrial processes, education, fine art, material engineering and bioengineering. Paola Antonelli, MoMA's senior curator of architecture and design, describes it as collecting 'an impressive variety and number of case studies that involve organisms at all scales, from plants and animals to bacteria and cells.' The book was first published in 2012, with a revised edition in 2018.
