Anniina Koivu's monograph on the Swiss studio Big-Game gathers interviews with its three founders about fifteen years of industrial design work, told through the stories behind specific objects such as retail wine bottles, airline cutlery and an Ikea piece. It reads as a record of design outcomes built through a chain of collaborations with makers and brands.
Fifteen years of the Swiss studio Big-Game, told through the backstories of everyday objects — supermarket wine bottles, airline cutlery, an Ikea piece. A studio monograph that reads, in SDF terms, as Outcomes made through Partners: design as a chain of collaborations with makers and brands.
Big-Game is a Swiss design studio founded in Lausanne in 2004 by Augustin Scott de Martinville, Grégoire Jeanmonod and Elric Petit. The book gathers interviews with the three founders about fifteen years of industrial design work, illustrated with around 200 diagrams and photographs made specifically for the publication, and told through personal accounts of how notable projects came about, including wine bottle designs for retail, airline cutlery, a collaboration with Japanese ceramic artisans, and furniture made for Ikea.
