UNDP Malawi has opened a call under the GEF Small Grants Programme (operational phase 8). Community initiatives should combine environmental protection with livelihoods, gender equality and social inclusion. Grants range from USD 5,000 to 75,000 and projects may last up to 24 months.
Applicants must be eligible nonprofit organisations registered in Malawi. Projects target the districts of Mzimba, Rumphi and Nkhata Bay; sustainable urban proposals may also cover Blantyre, Zomba, Lilongwe and Mzuzu. Proposals use the standard proposal and budget templates and follow the country strategy, as the official call and application documents set out. Submissions are due by 30 October 2026; clarification requests close on 20 October 2026, and late proposals are excluded.
