Fund for Innovation in Development (FID)
Grants in stages, from testing a new idea to taking a proven solution to scale, for innovations that reduce poverty and inequality in countries eligible for official development assistance. Applications can be submitted at any time of the year.
The Fund for Innovation in Development (FID) funds innovations against poverty and inequality, has them rigorously evaluated with the research community, and supports the scaling up of those that prove their impact. Its grants follow stages matched to how far a project has come, from a first pilot to the move to scale, with further grants for innovation and evidence in public policy. Any legally constituted organisation may apply: NGOs, public institutions, universities, research institutes and private companies, alone or in partnership. Individuals and international or multilateral public institutions are not eligible. Projects must be carried out in a country eligible for official development assistance, on the OECD list; the applicant may be registered anywhere. There is no deadline: applications are submitted through the call for proposals at any point in the year. Preparation grants are being reworked and their next window is planned for 2027.
