Studies in the History of Gardens & Designed Landscapes

Studies in the History of Gardens and Designed Landscapes is dedicated to the original research and documentary analysis of landscapes, gardens, and special sites around the globe, in cultural and historical context. With an emphasis on the dialogue between design and reception in gardens and designed landscapes, the journal welcomes submissions engaging with aesthetics; social and cultural history; geography; plants, plant humanities, and horticulture; technology; and the environment. The journal encourages research and dialogue around gardens and landscapes in context of urgent contemporary questions around the environment, climate change, and conservations, as well as race, equity and social justice. The journal considers individual submissions as well as proposals for Special Issues or Fora on topics or themes of relevance to the journal’s objectives. The journal features regular book reviews; proposals for review essays on thematic and timely clusters of publications will be considered.
