- The groundbreaking Methane Alert and Response System tracked major releases of the potent greenhouse gas from oil and gas installations.

In September, UNEP and partners launched the National Biodiversity Strategies and Action Plans Accelerator Partnership.

- Governments of the High Ambition Coalition to End Plastic Pollution are committed to ending plastic pollution by 2040
- Throughout 2023, UNEP helped countries reduce waste through circularity

- UNEP and partners released “Rethinking, Extending, Re-using: Harnessing Digital Technologies for a Circular Economy”, which shows how digital product passports can contribute to the lifecycle approach.
