GT2P (Great Things to People) — Less CPP N°1

Gonzalo Raineri Bernain

We revisit the work of Chilean design studio GT2P (Great Things to People), particularly in their Less CPP N°1 project, provides a powerful contemporary example. Here, the Elements they manipulate within the Design Core are multifaceted. They engage with the conceptual elements of their "paracrafting" methodology—a framework that blends digital fabrication with traditional craft—and, crucially, with the intangible digital elements of generative algorithms. At the same time, they work with the abstract properties of their chosen physical material, in this case, cast porcelain. The key to their process is that the tool (the parametric model) and the material (the porcelain) are designed in a co-dependent dialogue.
