The Al-Azhar Park project in Cairo by the Aga Khan Trust for Culture (AKTC), an arm of the AKDN, is a prime example of Multi-disciplinary partnership. This large-scale urban regeneration project (Outcome/Commission/Wicked) involved landscape architects, architects, engineers, historians, archaeologists, botanists, sociologists, economists (Partners), and crucially, engagement with the local Darb al-Ahmar community, to transform a former rubbish dump into a vibrant public park and catalyst for neighborhood revitalization.
